Inter School Mathematics Competition, sponsored by Punjab State Council of Science and Technology, Chandigarh 3rd of February, 2017

Chandigarh College of Education, Landran, organized “Innovation in Teaching Mathematics”, Inter School Mathematics Competition, sponsored by Punjab State Council of Science and Technology, Chandigarh on 3rd of February, 2017. Dr. Kirandeep Singh, Professor, Department of Education, Punjab University, Chandigarh was the chief guest for the event. The Competition witnessed a whopping number of students from various renowned schools, namely- St. Joseph Sr. Sec. School, Doon International School, Indus Public School, Guru Nanak Foundation Public School, Ambika Public School, Anee's School, Oakridge International School and Shivalik School . The students participated in the various items such as Display Formulae, Symbols, Two Dimension Geometry, Graphical representation under Chart making, Model making and Quiz competition. The victorious teams won cash prizes ranging from 3000 rupees to 500 rupees along with the trophies. The artistic bent of students’ mind was manifested. While addressing the students during the valedictory session, Dr. Kirandeep remarked joyously that she was impressed to see a hearty participation of school students in this competition. She urged that it is very important that the teachers put in their hard efforts in eliminating the existing ‘Maths Phobia’ from the minds of their students. Dr. Neena Sawhney presented Dr. Kirandeep Singh with a memento and expressed her heartfelt gratitude to the participants for their competitive spirit. The enthusiasm and competitive spirit of the students was note worthy.
